Faith, Folk and . . .

(a) Faith, Folk and Clarity, ed. Peter Smith; Galliard 1967

A collection of songs, partly traditional and partly newly composed in a `folk' style. The collection, which owed much to the influence of Sydney Carter and other contemporary song-writers, was followed by several others in the same style. It represented an attempt to present religious, social and moral themes - not always overtly Christian - in the form of ballads and simple repetitive chorus-songs.
