A monthly Welsh music magazine, edited by David Emlyn Evans (from 1889-1913, and from 1899 with David Jenkins), and by David Evans (from 1916-21).

Yattendon Hymnal

Robert Bridges & H.E.Wooldridge: Yattendon Hymnal, Oxford 1899

Compiled at Yattendon, Berkshire, where Robert Bridges had lived since 1882. It was issued in instalments, beginning in 1895, and initially as Hymns in Four Parts with English Words for singing in Churches; when completed in 1899 it contained 100 hymns, mostly written or translated by Bridges himself.

The complete collection included nine tunes composed by H.E.Wooldridge, one of these being Yattendon 46 (see below).

The collection was planned and published jointly by Michael Baughen and Timothy Dudley-Smith while the latter was senior Secretary of the Church Pastoral Aid Society.
