The following details are included in this Enchiridion. They do not provide a complete list of John and Charles's publications (let alone to all the hymns written by them), for which reference should be made to other sources including those mentioned here.
There are three main sets of notes available here:
(a) The Poetical Works of John and Charles Wesley, ed. G.Osborn, 1868-70
(select this for a partial Contents list and extracts from certain Prefaces included in it)
(b) Wesley hymn-books and Charles's hymns: Index to notes in Julian. [This file is incomplete and is not yet included here.]
(Only includes hymns by Charles W. noted in Julian and the titles of the collections in which they first appeared.)
(c) Chronological list of the source books of Wesley hymns (or arrangements) contained in Rejoice & Sing, with brief notes on the source books and cross-references to the Enchiridion or RS Companion notes on hymns and tunes.

The Poetical Works of J.& C.Wesley
[D] The Poetical Works of John & Charles Wesley (the complete works, in 13 vols.); edited by G.Osborn; Wesleyan-Methodist Conference, 1868-70
There are a few omissions of texts, mainly hymns not by the Wesleys included in John Wesley's early Collections, and generally the Wesley hymns which originally appeared in more than one Collection and are included only once in this edition. Each volume contains an editorial Preface, headed `ADVERTISEMENT', usually giving the historical and/or theological background to the hymns or Collections contained in the volume. Many of these are transcribed here; they are listed on the following screen-pages.
See below for a short Contents list of Vol.s I-VII and IX, from which detailed Contents lists and some of the Prefaces &c. may be selected.
